A few friends got me out on the early-season trails in Killington, Vermont. The fun part about the early season (April & May) is that the trails are super raw with fallen trees and washouts. We came across our share of both!
Since my truck didn’t have armor yet, we planned to stick to green and blue trails. The washouts had different ideas.

Due to the technical issues on the trail, I forgot to take more photos. There were many opportunities, but I was too focused on navigating the obstacles safely. It was also my first time out with the GX460.

I expected the truck to feel more top-heavy. To my delight, it was super planted. There was one set of obstacles where a tire lifted, but so did everyone else’s. We were all in Toyotas, but the others were far more modified than mine.

The only extra tool needed was a chainsaw on this trip. Fortunatley, no flat tires and nobody got stuck. We spent a lot of time clearing the trail. It was muggy and buggy moving downed trees. Luckily, no winches were needed to move hefty logs. The fatter ones were cut into firewood-type rounds and we just chucked them off the trail.

End of trail experience.
This trail run was in May. This post is being written in August. It has been an extremely difficult summer. Shortly after this trek, my wife suffered from an autoimmune attack and has been hospitalized to this day. We do not know what caused it and the diagnosis is just a theory. All we can do is pray she gets better and can come home to us.
